<div style="color: #525252; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21.4px; margin-bottom: 10.5px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #525252; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21.4px; margin-bottom: 10.5px;">
Every family fears the inevitable invasion of head lice. Now, there is a “super lice” bug to worry about.Research presented at the American Chemical Society mentioned 25 states where lice are resistant to typical over-the-counter <span data-mce-style="line-height: 1.52857;" style="line-height: 1.52857;">treatments. What is a family to do?</span></div>
<div style="color: #525252; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21.4px; margin-bottom: 10.5px;">
The first step to avoid a lice breakout in your home: Lice don’t fly; they crawl, so make it difficult for the little guys to crawl onto your family’s heads! Tie long hair up as often as possible – buns are great, but even braids and ponytails will help minimize the surface area that long, flowy hair will touch in a given day. Spray Meticulice's Minty’s Defense & Detangling Spray on the kids’ heads daily as part of the get-ready routine.</div>
<div style="color: #525252; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21.4px; margin-bottom: 10.5px;">
If a lice breakout is happening at the school, I take extra precautions to prevent it from spreading: I keep the brushes and hair accessories in a large zip top plastic bag in the freezer (which will kill lice).<img alt="hairbrush-349563_1280-768x576" class="aligncenter wp-image-10688" data-mce-src="http://meticulice.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/hairbrush-349563_1280-768x576-300x225.jpg" src="http://meticulice.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/hairbrush-349563_1280-768x576-300x225.jpg" height="239" style="border: 0px; display: block; height: auto; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; max-width: 100%;" width="320" /></div>
<div style="color: #525252; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21.4px; margin-bottom: 10.5px;">
The Second Step Do regular checks on your child’s head for lice and nits (lice eggs). If the thought of doing a check seems icky, remember this: It won’t be icky unless you find lice. And if you find lice, trust me; a small case of lice is a day at the spa compared to a full-blown household infestation. (This is the voice of experience.)<br />

<div class="p1">
<br /></div>
<div class="p3">
What are head lice? Lice are tiny, wingless insects that live exclusively on human hair and feed off of the scalp’s blood. A single insect is a “louse,” and their eggs are called “nits.” They don’t fly or jump but are spread by head-to-head contact. Lice cannot survive away from a human head for more than 24 hours, but once on a head, lice can thrive for up to 30 days.</div>
<div class="p3">
<br /></div>
<div class="p3">
Can lice be eliminated? Rest assured, lice can be permanently eradicated, but you must act fast. With a single female laying up to 10 eggs a day, a new head lice problem can quickly escalate into a severe infestation. Left untreated, it will certainly spread to family, friends and others close by.</div>
<div class="p3">

In October we tend to concentrate on halloween, candy, decorating, pumpkin carving,haunted houses, corn mazes and everything except for lice. Its great to have fun, but mostly we get lice when we are having fun. Here are some tips to help you take precaution of head lice and to prevent having them by the end of October.
1. Be careful when trying on halloween costumes.
2. Be more cautious when you take your kids to a halloween party; check their head when you get home.
* The proper way to do a head check is to get the proper comb, which we sell here a Meticulice.
* Section the hair and inspect the hair part by part, while combing from the scalp to the end of your hair.
* If you need assistance, we are here to help you*
3. Be aware when you leave the movie theatre; thats a common place to get them.
4. Try to angle your hair away from another person's when taking selfies.
Have a Safe and Happy Halloween!

<br />
The start of May marks a very important date : May 6, National Nurses AND Teachers Day. Two of our favorite type of people here at Meticulice. Nurses and teachers are some of the hardest workers, and two of the greatest tools in head lice prevention.<br />
<br />
We celebrate our nurses and teachers every day, but today is a special day to go out of your way to thank them for their hard work and dedication. Meticulice would like to take the time out to share with you how they help us in lice prevention.<br />
<br />
The first step starts with teachers. When teachers come to us for help in prevention for their classrooms, we give some basic steps. Each child in a class should have their own cubby or locker, not sharing a space. Teachers should try their best to make sure each child doesn't share hats, scarves, coats, combs and brushes, pillows and mats for nap time, hair accessories, stuffed toys, etc. A thorough cleaning of their classroom should be done often, and mint protection spray misted each day.<br />
<br />
Teachers are most likely the first ones to start noticing a child with an itchy head or one who has a "glow" above them. Once that happens, the school nurse will take over.<br />
<br />
School nurses play many roles in head lice detection and prevention. They are a detective, a jury, a judge. The first step is to notify the parents, even before examining the child's head. Once the evidence is found, they inform the parents of the the proper steps to take. The child is sent home, and the staff is informed that a student has been infected.<br />
<br />
The nurse will then organize a screening of the students.This when Meticulice will come in and do a thorough screening of every student. If more evidence is found, it will be given to the nurse who will again notify the parents. During a screening information is given to the staff to keep them informed of what head head lice is, how to keep students and staff as protected as possible, mint sprays are handed out, and prevention products are available.<br />
<br />
While everyday we show love to nurses and teachers, today it is important that we take that extra moment to stop and say thank you. Meticulice knows that they are an important factor in head lice prevention, and we are proud to work alongside of them. <br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Here at Meticulice we take the business of head lice and nits very seriously. This all starts at your initial screening to determine whether or not you have a positive head lice diagnosis. One thing we will always strive for at Meticulice is to <b>never give out false positives. </b></span></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">A false positive is a diagnosis of head lice when in fact you do not have head lice. A screening is usually done by a nurse, health care practitioner, or parent. These screenings are done by the use of an orange stick, a magnifying lamp, and a check of the five hot spots (nape of the neck, crown of the head, bang area, and above the ears). False positives start a domino effect of stress, anxiety, and unnecessary expense and time. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Meticulice prides itself on doing everything we can during a screening to never give you a false positive diagnosis. If we deem someone positive we will share the evidence we find. At our head lice removal boutique we take extra steps to provide you with the proper diagnosis. We use a wet combing method, which has been proven to be much more effective than a screening alone. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">While there is a loss of credibility with a false positive diagnosis, above all it causes unnecessary expenses and stress for families. What we have to offer you are a confident, knowledgeable, and highly trained staff of specialists. We strive to keep all our clients informed with the most up to date head lice education and knowledge to better empower you during this difficult time. Our trained specialists will answer all your questions, and are always just a phone call away to keep the dialogue going. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">A recent journal of Medical Entomology is reporting that there is new genetically modified strains of head lice that are now resistant to all forms of OTC head lice products.</span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">“Our approach is manual versus chemical removal,” explained Elissa Rand, President and Founder of Meticulice. “We use the leading head lice comb on the market along with our all natural elimination product containing natural enzymes & herbal extracts. This formula makes it easy to manually remove lice and eggs. It takes patience, but it’s a proven method.”</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Meticulice offers removal services in East Setauket as well as in-home services on Long Island Founded in 2010; Meticulice’s vision is to dispel the stigma associated with head lice and to stop the overuse and abuse of pesticides on children and our environment.</span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">“Every parent who calls Meticulice begins the conversation with ‘I've used all the major brands the drugstore sells. Why are the bugs still moving and isn't this bad the smell is awful? We have known for a long time that resistance has been evolving in the louse.” This is not the first study proving the resistance. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Our mission is to
change the way people treat head lice and to meet a universal demand for head
lice help by delivering environmentally friendly superior products and services
– just the solution called for in the Journal of Medical Entomology research
abstract. Progressive pharmacy chains are making such alternatives available
and are educating their pharmacists to the recent study and what they can do to better help their
clients.</span></div>

Your time will be much better spent using proper removal techniques or calling a Head Lice removal company like Meticulice and following these steps to kill head lice in infested items.</div>
<div style="background-color: transparent; border: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<br />
1. Gather all personal items such as Combs, Brushes, Hats, Hair Clips, Headbands, Headsets, Helmets, Clothing, Stuffed Animals, Costumes, Pillows and Coats for clean up.<br />
<br />
2. Freeze all hair care items (such as combs, brushes, hair clips, etc.) in a sealed bag in a sealed bag in the freezer for 12 hours. <br />
<br />
3. Headsets or helmets, place them in a <br />
sealed plastic bag and put them in a freezer for 12 hours to kill the lice and eggs. <br />
<br />
4. Wash all bedding and clothing that your child has used in hot water (at least 130°F) OR run them through your dryer's hottest setting for at least 30 minutes or based on instructions on label.<br />
<br />
5. Place items that cannot be cleaned or run through the dryer (i.e. stuffed animals and toys) in a sealed plastic bag for 2 days.<br />
<br />
6. Follow up with the vacuum to get rid of any lice dust or egg shells that were left behind. According to the NPA, vacuuming is the safest way to remove lice and fallen hairs with attached nits from upholstered furniture, rugs, stuffed animals, or car seats- wherever someone with head lice may have rested their head. <br />
<br />
7. Take a peek once a week. You'll need an Gotcha Nit Removal Comb, a magnifying glass and lots of light.</div>

<span style="font-size: small;">Today I received a telephone call at <a href="http://www.meticulice.com/" target="_blank">Meticulice</a> from a women whose daughter had head lice. The mother did an at home removal (without the aid of our <a href="http://www.meticulice.com/index.php/store" target="_blank"><b>Ultimate Lice Fighting Comb or our non toxic removal products</b></a>). After 6 hours of combing the lice out, the mother chose to call Meticulice and make an appointment for a thorough wet head check and examination. </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;">I thought to myself, wow what a smart women! Many parents will send their child to school after the home removal assuming that all of the nits have been removed. The school nurse will check the child's head, find nits, and send the child back home to try again. Rather than risk her child being sent home, this mother empowered herself by bringing her daughter to Meticulice for a wet head check. We found 5 - 10 nits which we removed and educated them on head lice, how to prevent a further outbreak, and how to clean her home. At <a href="http://www.meticulice.com/" target="_blank">Meticulice</a>, we take pride in the education we provide!</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;">The following day the mother brought her daughter to the school nurse along with a head check letter from <a href="http://www.meticulice.com/" target="_blank">Meticulice</a>. The nurse examined her daughter, found her to be lice free, and sent her off to her class.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;">This is a terrific way for parents who are able to painstakingly try a removal on their own to get the reassurance that they did the job correctly. Remember leaving two viable nits in your hair can lead to more generations and a longer period of the dreaded head lice.</span></div>

</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 10px;">
Each year, we see a increase in the number of head lice cases after families gather for the holidays. With Thanksgiving and Christmas fast approaching and families snuggling in together for long weekends or even just spending the evening together, the opportunity is there for head lice to spread from one person to many. While <strong>head lice do not jump or fly, they do crawl from head to head</strong>. If your children are spending time with their cousins or family friends, there is ample opportunity for one child to pick up a case from another.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 10px;">
Short of putting your child in a bubble, what can you do? Below are some practical tips to reduce the chance of your child getting head lice from another child who likely is unaware that she even has the dreaded bugs in her hair:</div>
<ul style="margin: 0px 0px 10px 25px; padding: 0px;">
<li style="line-height: 19px;">Girls should wear their hair up in a braid or bun. The less accessible that the hair is, the more difficult it is for the bugs to get into it.</li>
<li style="line-height: 19px;">Put prevention products like Meticulice Mint prevention spray in your child’s hair. The products put a protective layer on the hair, which makes it harder for the bug to attach to the hair</li>
<li style="line-height: 19px;">Don’t let your children share combs or other hair accessories</li>
<li style="line-height: 19px;">Check your child in front of a bright window or under a bright light as soon as your get home. If you are not sure come in for a head check, the earlier head lice are found the less chance they have to spread to all family members.</li>
</ul>
<h2 style="color: #505050; font-family: 'Fjalla One', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 23px; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 1.15em; margin: 0px 0px 12px; padding-top: 10px; position: relative; text-rendering: optimizelegibility; text-shadow: rgb(255, 255, 255) 1px 1px 1px;">
<span class="header-shade" style="background-image: url(http://www.licedoctors.com/wp-content/themes/alyeska/assets/images/layout/style/light/text-gradient-light.png); background-position: initial initial !important; background-repeat: initial initial !important; display: block; height: 36px; position: absolute; width: 589.78125px;"></span>Check For Nits and Lice After Holidays</h2>

costumes to school tomorrow, we know kids love to try on their friend’s

make sure your child won't have lice after this fun day!</span></span></span></div>

and hats at the store?</b></span><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="background: white;"><br /></span>
<span style="background: white;">Not necessarily. Lice can only survive being off
of someone's head for 48-72 hours. While it is still possible if a bug was
recently left in a hat or costume, you can visually check a hat to see if
there's a bug in it. Go home that day and do a wet head check just to make sure
that nothing transferred! If you're concerned, buy the costume and leave it on
the hanger in your home for 48-72 hours. Any bug that could've been on there
would be dead after that time.</span><br />

<span style="background: white;">There are many precautionary measures we can
take to help reduce the risk of getting head lice. Two very valuable tools for
preventing head lice is a lice comb and mint spray. The mint spray acts as a
natural repellent to lice. . and it smells good! The lice comb is especially
important. While your child's hair is wet, after a shower is best, comb through
their hair and see if you see any evidence. Anything that could have been
contracted should be brushed out at that time. So for the party, try to keep
their hair up so it won't be in contact with other children's hair. Spray their
hair and around the back of their ears and neck with mint spray. Then when they
return home, give them a comb through with a lice comb! </span><br />

<span style="background: white;">There are different options in how you can
handle this. The most effective way in our opinion is to bring them to a
removal boutique, like Meticulice. This way we can ensure that all live has
been removed and it will give you peace of mind as well. The other option is to
get natural removal products, which Meticulice also offers. We will instruct
you on what you'd need to do, and we suggest coming in for a wet head check
afterwards so you know that it has all been removed.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14.0pt;">There is
always controversy surrounding school nurse lice screenings vs. wet head checks
at a professional Lice Removal Boutique. School nurses do an amazing job at
caring for our children. Many nurses also provide a cautious head check for
lice. The reality is, they do not have the time or the extensive training to
thoroughly investigate our children’s heads. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14.0pt;">Usually
when lice have been detected within a classroom, they are sent down to the
nurse’s office and are sent home for a removal. The school’s protocol differs
after that. Some schools have a “No Nit Policy” which means the child cannot
return to school unless all nits and louse have been completely removed. Most
nurses have the classroom where the child was found to have lice in all be
checked as well. Some schools send letters and emails home alerting families
when there’s an outbreak and to take precautionary measures. Majority of the
time they do not have the whole school screened because of the amount of
students.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14.0pt;">We are here
to make you aware of the necessity to have routine head checks done for your
children. There are various ways of checking for lice. School nurses usually
use an orange wooden stick and check the “hot spots” of where lice usually hide
(nape of the neck, behind the ears, crown area). The problem with this is that lice
can be found anywhere on your head and any live louse can crawl very quickly
away from the orange stick! So, it is possible to easily miss something during
this type of check. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14.0pt;">To do a
head check, the most important part is to have a lice comb! Specifically, Meticulice's "Gotcha! Terminator Nit Comb," which can be purchased at Meticulice. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

puts your mind at ease as a parent knowing that you’re taking precautionary

Many school nurses suggest buying over the counter lice removal products. The problem with this is that we don't know the long term effects of the chemical neurotoxins within these products. As well, it is very difficult to remove every nit (egg) with the ineffective combs and an untrained eye. Our philosophy here at Meticulice is to safely and effectively treat lice the non-toxic way. We offer a variety of all natural, non-toxic, pesticide-free products that treat and prevent lice from reoccurring.</div>

Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that somewhere between 6 and 12 million
people in the United States are infested annually.<o:p></o:p></div>

Awareness
begins with education, and some of the most common misconceptions about
head-lice are:<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Myth #1: Lice gravitate to dirty or unhygienic hair and
scalps.<o:p></o:p></div>

FALSE:<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Head lice
prefer clean hair and scalps. This allows them to move more freely through the
hair and allows their nits (louse eggs) to bond to hair strands.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

<div class="MsoNormal">
Myth #2: Head lice can jump and fly, making them highly
contagious.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
FALSE:<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Head lice do
not jump nor do they fly. They do not maneuver very well on flat surfaces,
either. They are, however, very quick in the hair and can sometimes remain
undetected for 30 days or more. Head-to-head contact is the #1 cause of head
lice infestations.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Myth #3: Over-the-counter head lice treatments are safe and
effective.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
FALSE: Many over-the-counter products are highly
concentrated pesticides that can be absorbed through the skin and into our
bloodstream. They are also ineffective, as the head louse has built up a
resistance to the pesticides; they do nothing to kill the nits. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Myth #4: Once you have lice you're less likely to catch it again.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br />FALSE: Lice leave a scent that actually "calls" other lice telling them you are a good food source. Additionally you often return to the same group of friends where lice most likely already exist.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Myth #5: You can drown and wash away lice if you take a long shower and wash your hair repeatedly.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
FALSE: Lice shut down for up to 2 hours and lock their claw like legs onto the hair shaft: allowing them to hang on for dear life!</div>

Parents should be on the lookout
for early signs of lice infestations and take the necessary steps to treat
their children. If one member of a family has lice, it is imperative to treat
the entire family at the same time.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;">
If you treat your kids one night,
and wait to treat yourself the next night, it can keep spreading. One of the
most common signs of head-lice is scalp itching, particularly at the back of
the head and around the ears.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>Specialized products that immobilize
the live lice and nymphs and then break the bond between the hair and the
glue-like substance that holds the nit to the hair shaft must be used. Manual
nit removal, which is the process of going strand-by-strand through the hair to
physically remove the nits, is the only way to ensure lice are completely
removed. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Running a superior head lice comb through
the hair once or twice a week is a helpful way to stay on top of potential
re-infestations or catch a new case in its infancy. Discourage children and
family members from sharing hair tools and accessories (such as brushes, combs,
ponytail holders, headbands, etc.), clothes, towels, hats, scarves and similar
items.<o:p></o:p></div>

What happens; the lice that remain continue to lay eggs, nits continue to hatch, and re-infestation occurs. Proper manual combing and removal of live lice and viable nits is the only way to properly treat head lice and prevent re-infestation. I have seen this scenario repeated time and time again where a parent goes to the pharmacy comes out with what they think will be the magic potion (which may be toxic) to rid the family of head lice. After countless stressful hours, lost work & school/camp time waisted money and the individuals still have head lice. We get the distress call at <a href="http://www.meticulice.com/" target="_blank">Meticulice</a>. We always welcome calls before this occurs and are always happy to share information to support your decision.</span></span></span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #666666; font-size: 18px; line-height: 22px; text-align: justify;">Remember there are no over-the-counter or prescription treatments that claim to kill lice that are totally safe and scientifically proven to be 100% effective against head lice and nits. These treatments are potentially harmful pesticides and reliance on them promotes repeated use and contributes to toxic build up in the system and resistance to the pesticides. Are we REALLY prepared to expose our children or ourselves to HARMFUL chemicals?</span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><br style="color: #666666; font-size: 18px; line-height: 22px; text-align: justify;" /></span><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #666666; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="line-height: 22px;">Each person is unique and can react differently to these chemicals. Although the FDA requires testing before the product is approved, it can’t foresee potential problems in every individual. It’s common for the FDA to hear about issues after the damage has been done. The National Pediculosis Association (NPA) warns there are many instances chemical head lice products should not be used. In general, children’s growing bodies are far less able to process these chemicals. They have less developed immune systems, their detoxification processes are not yet developed and their organs are still growing. This makes them far more susceptible and sensitive to toxic threats. Which can have been known to cause immune system suppression, seizures, vomiting, diarrhea, convulsions, circulatory collapse, behavioral changes, neuromuscular damage, chronic skin eruptions, liver damage, asthma, respiratory failure, still birth, birth defects, cancer and even death. </span></span></span></span></span><br />

I Found Lice!<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="line-height: 20px;">So it's 12 AM and you have just finished another long day. Suddenly, your daughter rushes into your bedroom saying, "I can't sleep! My head is itchy!". Oh no! It cant be lice! Not on MY daughter. </span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="line-height: 20px;">So now what do you do? Your first thought may be to run to the 24 hour pharmacy and pick up one of those chemical based lice products... But wait, you remember Mary told you that when Monica had head lice she tried to use that and it did not work. Then you remember learning about the experts at <a href="http://www.meticulice.com/" target="_blank">Meticulice</a>. Instead of running out of the house to the pharmacy, you turn on your computer and head to the <a href="http://www.meticulice.com/" target="_blank">Meticulice</a> website. </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="line-height: 20px;"><a href="http://www.meticulice.com/" target="_blank">Meticulice</a> recommends the following: Stay calm. </span></span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">The</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">likelihood</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">that the child contracted head lice that day is slim to none.</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">More likely,</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">the child has been sharing space with these pesky</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">visitors</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">for at least a couple of weeks,</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">even as much as</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">3 to 4 weeks! Knowing this should lessen the panic and overwhelming need to get them out <i>right this minute!</i></span><span style="font-size: small;"> </span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="line-height: 20px;">If your child is uncomfortable and itchy,</span></span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="line-height: 20px;"> give a bendadryl or another antihistamine to soothe. </span></span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">Aside from staying calm, the best action (not reaction) is to run a lice comb through the child's hair, thus minimizing the bug population. The next</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">day</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">, when you are not so bleary eyed and exhausted, you can </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">go</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">completely</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">through</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">the hair, or take them to be</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">professionally</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">deloused. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">Having a good lice comb in your home is a must for every parent. Unfortunately most parents wait until the need arises and then frantically search in vain for the needed tools to help their</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">family</span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 20px;">through this dreaded time period. Besides combing, the parent may also want to shampoo the hair with a nice mint based shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo won't eliminate the problem but, like the comb, it will absolutely help minimize it. Finally, if possible, pull the hair back into a bun or braid; that way you help minimize additional spreading of the bugs until the child can be properly treated. <b>Do not begin a mega cleaning! </b>Wait to start stripping sheets and vacuuming couches - all cleaning efforts should be reserved for the actual day of treatment.</span><span style="font-size: small;"> </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Help put your mind at ease by using the "<i><b>Book Now</b></i>" feature on Meticulice's web site. Now that you know you have an appointment booked for 8:30 in the morning, you can get some rest. <i>Your daughter will be lice free within two hours of your visit.</i> Don't forget to book appointments for each family member to have a thorough head check also. Just in case the lice has spread from one head to another, it is better to treat everyone at the same time and avoid a never ending cycle!</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Recently many people who I have been speaking to School nurses, Social workers, Day Care Centers, School staff and administrators have had questions about head lice detection, prevention and treatment.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />There really is so much mis-information out there and the question many people ask who is correct? Well after a many years of hands on education and research to support working with families and individuals I have some of the most <a href="http://www.meticulice.com/index.php/facilities" target="_blank">frequently</a> asked questions answered. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />The most often asked question is<b> How do I check For Head Lice?</b> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">First off some tools to make the job easier and more effective</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<ul style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px;">
<li style="background-color: white; color: #1a1718; line-height: 20px; list-style-type: square; margin: 0px 0px 0px 20px; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Excellent light </span>(natural light, if possible – outdoors, close to a south facing window or the best light you can find in your home otherwise)</span></li>
</ul>
<ul style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px;">
<li style="background-color: white; color: #1a1718; line-height: 20px; list-style-type: square; margin: 0px 0px 0px 20px; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">A <span style="text-decoration: underline;">magnifying</span> glass, magnifying/reading glasses and/or a microscope (the toy you have tucked in the closet might even do the trick)</span></li>
</ul>
<ul style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px;">
<li style="background-color: white; color: #1a1718; line-height: 20px; list-style-type: square; margin: 0px 0px 0px 20px; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">A <span style="text-decoration: underline;">comb or brush</span> to completely detangle the hair and a comb to section the hair for those with very thick and/or long hair (and in this case, some clips might be helpful too to hold the hair up in sections)</span></li>
</ul>
<ul style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px;">
<li style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px 0px 0px 20px; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #1a1718;"><span style="line-height: 20px;"><span style="background-color: white;">A<u> leading</u></span></span></span><span style="background-color: white; color: #1a1718; line-height: 20px;"><u> head lice comb</u></span><span style="color: #1a1718;"><span style="line-height: 20px;"><span style="background-color: white;">. This IS NOT a plastic comb that comes in with some of the over the counter kits and it is not even the two sided red-handled metal comb that is sold separately by one of the manufacturers of the kits. You need a stainless steel head lice comb like our </span><a href="http://www.meticulice.com/index.php/store" style="background-color: white;" target="_blank">Meticulice Ultimate Lice Fighter Comb</a><span style="background-color: white;"> This item is one of the best tools you can have in your medicine cabinet. </span></span></span></span></li>
</ul>
<ul style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px;">
<li style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px 0px 0px 20px; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;">A</span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">spray bottle</span></span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;">of water (detangler spray or a spray bottle filled with water and a small amount of conditioner to help remove tangles on thick or curly hair) these will aid in combing through the hair.</span></li>
</ul>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 20px;"><b>Tools are collected now we move on to <u>how to check the head</u>:</b></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 20px;"><br /></span></span>
<br />
<ul style="background-color: white; list-style-type: square; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px;">
<li style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px 0px 0px 20px; padding: 0px;"><span style="color: #1a1718; font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 20px;">Go to a well lit area this can be outside</span></span></li>
</ul>
<ul style="background-color: white; list-style-type: square; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px;">
<li style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px 0px 0px 20px; padding: 0px;"><span style="color: #1a1718; line-height: 20px;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Use your detangler comb or brush to completely detangle the hair.</span></span></li>
</ul>
<ul style="background-color: white; list-style-type: square; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px;">
<li style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px 0px 0px 20px; padding: 0px;"><span style="color: #1a1718; line-height: 20px;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Then, part your child’s hair and using the magnifying glass or another type of magnification, look at the areas we like to call the five “hot spots” – behind the ears, at the nape of the neck, above the forehead and at the crown these are warm areas on the head where fertilized female head lice like to lay their eggs. Look for tiny poppy-seed sized eggs, stuck to the hair shaft you will need to use your fingernails to loosen them they are and generally close to the scalp. They’re usually in quarter-sized clusters. They can be dark in color or light in color but in general, viable nits are plump and darkish especially on dark hair. Similar to small size sesame seeds. If you can dislodge something on the hair shaft or scalp with a flick of the fingernail or by blowing on it, it’s <b>not</b> a head lice nit.</span></span></li>
</ul>
<ul style="background-color: white; list-style-type: square; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px;">
<li style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px 0px 0px 20px; padding: 0px;"><span style="color: #1a1718; font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 20px;">If nothing is found, spray the hair with the water or a combination of water and diluted conditioner. Wet the hair . Detangle again with a detangler comb or brush to remove all knots.</span></span></li>
</ul>
<ul style="background-color: white; list-style-type: square; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px;">
<li style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px 0px 0px 20px; padding: 0px;"><span style="color: #1a1718; line-height: 20px;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">With the Meticulice Ultimate Lice Fighting Comb start combing – from the scalp to the ends of the hair. The individual being combed shouldmay feel the comb this is fine and normal. After three or four combings through the hair with the lice comb, wipe the comb on both sides on a piece of white paper towel or a white tissue. Bugs and nits will be evident. Be methodical. Continue doing this, multi-directionally nits can be anywhere on the hair shaft so you need to comb from underneath and from the sides until you’ve lice combed the entire head. With long/thick hair, you might want to use clips to separate areas you’ve already combed.</span></span></li>
</ul>
<ul style="background-color: white; list-style-type: square; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px;">
<li style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px 0px 0px 20px; padding: 0px;"><span style="color: #1a1718; line-height: 20px;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">If you perform a thorough lice combing on the entire head and find nothing, it’s highly unlikely that a case of head lice is present.</span></span></li>
</ul>
<ul style="background-color: white; list-style-type: square; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px;">
<li style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px 0px 0px 20px; padding: 0px;"><span style="color: #1a1718; line-height: 20px;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">If you pull bugs either adult lice or maturing nymphs, they will be crawling a bit on the piece of paper towel/tissue. After you pull a couple of bugs, there’s no need to continue with the head check. The individual needs to be treated.</span></span></li>
</ul>
<ul style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px;">
<li style="list-style-type: square; margin: 0px 0px 0px 20px; padding: 0px;"><div style="background-color: white; padding: 0px 0px 10px;">
<span style="color: #1a1718; font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 20px;">Alternately, and if you’re still not sure after all of the above, you can always come to Meticulice for a comprehensive wet head check at a fee of $30. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUshNjdNpntaAt1F-A7RS-6obAXNbBd96I3XaCYJGQCbFash0djiz5MaPHpz6sCu_KYsqV2cbisj0rCXXSJrOq5fSAEW2RpM8My4KD8kYsENNlsmn8DGRGt_4a-bUPAwG6IddrX3qguKk/s1600/imgres.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUshNjdNpntaAt1F-A7RS-6obAXNbBd96I3XaCYJGQCbFash0djiz5MaPHpz6sCu_KYsqV2cbisj0rCXXSJrOq5fSAEW2RpM8My4KD8kYsENNlsmn8DGRGt_4a-bUPAwG6IddrX3qguKk/s1600/imgres.jpeg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
Parents know that the secret to staying warm in the cold weather is to keep your head covered. Yes, it's the time of year when bins full of hats, scarves, and gloves fill up classrooms and homes. It's also the time of year those pesky letters from the school nurse frequently come home with our kids.</div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
Yes it is true that head lice can survive the cold weather and take up residence on the heads of your loved ones. Let's review some facts of head lice:</div>
<ul style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<li>Head lice are parasites that require human blood for survival</li>
<li>Head lice do not jump or fly. They crawl quickly along the hair shaft.</li>
<li>Head to head contact is the most likely means of transferring head lice from one person to another, but sharing hats, combs, etc can also result in spreading lice.</li>
</ul>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
The good news is that with some education, head lice can be prevented. Here are some tips:</div>
<ul style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<li>Do not share any items that go on your head such as hats, combs, brushes, helmets, etc.</li>
<li>Teach your children to place their hats and scarves in the sleeve of their winter coat instead of the classroom bin.</li>
<li>Tie long hair back in a pony tail and/or keep a short hair do. This makes it more difficult for the lice latch onto a strand of hair.</li>
<li>Have frequent head checks! After all, tis the season to snuggle close to others!</li>
</ul>
<a href="http://www.meticulice.com/" style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Meticulice</a><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"> is here to offer education, head checks, and treatment if needed. WooHoo! Thanksgiving is around the corner and everyone is looking forward to a long weekend of relaxation and time spent with friends and family. But heads up! At any given time, 2 - 3 percent of the population has head lice. This means that head lice may hitch a ride with a favorite relative and share the holiday with you too!</div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdNZ_TZSxOAEDD9lSphdJsysVao93L1Hn-LXhXaEa3dLmuZhUX5hWzTKDh9lTC5N7Mnm9KgKET8DPk8urOajhmJTwS-FCJOaXp2IldTfw0Q7wUbmQ1QHqAIjhfUntyI13Kb_QxgegklKg/s1600/imgres-2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdNZ_TZSxOAEDD9lSphdJsysVao93L1Hn-LXhXaEa3dLmuZhUX5hWzTKDh9lTC5N7Mnm9KgKET8DPk8urOajhmJTwS-FCJOaXp2IldTfw0Q7wUbmQ1QHqAIjhfUntyI13Kb_QxgegklKg/s1600/imgres-2.jpeg" /></a></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
Think of all of the wonderful possibilities for head lice to pass from person to person over the Thanksgiving weekend. There is the long car ride where kids sit with their heads close together sharing earbuds while looking at their tech devices. There is the crowding of family members into sleeping arrangements and shared bedding. Forgot a hat and want to play in the family football game? Sure! Borrow one of ours! Wait! That was MY hairbrush not YOURS! Oh and we can't forgot all of the shopping done over this weekend! Yes! That hat looks great on you (just like it did on the people who tried it on before you)! Sweaters, hoodies and more going over your hair after going over countless other heads. Oh my it can feel frightening!</div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
But do not fear! <a href="http://www.meticulice.com/">Meticulice</a> is here to help! Come see us for a head check prior to this most dangerous of weekends. Let us check and be sure you are lice free to begin with. Plus, we can offer education to you and your family members to help PREVENT contracting head lice from others. No worries if you could not make it in to see us beforehand. We will be happy to check your head after the weekend and if need be, we can provide treatment. Bottom line is we are here to help make any situation easier for you!</div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">We wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving!</span>Meticulicehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17710928811156925268noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035480853305372962.post-75072274023192408222012-10-17T06:00:00.000-07:002012-11-14T05:47:21.984-08:00Why Does My Head Itch?<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">One tell-tale sign that it is time to check your head for lice is the itch. Not every itch means head lice, but persistant itching should be checked. Here at <a href="http://www.meticulice.com/">Meticulice</a> we are often asked why head lice makes a person itch so we thought we would share the answer here.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3ZX30GHqq80ThmQ8cF6bZeKf0nuLEenUOed22RZM-90jEO-eHyvpSbosKCcRAuFvGAyLbWB_n2LU9W-2Qo_pHdgQV8RmjXP7Dku6w5zlyNtCvQxuS8IF1zgr1VqarovrKNivEzPenVq4/s1600/imgres-4.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3ZX30GHqq80ThmQ8cF6bZeKf0nuLEenUOed22RZM-90jEO-eHyvpSbosKCcRAuFvGAyLbWB_n2LU9W-2Qo_pHdgQV8RmjXP7Dku6w5zlyNtCvQxuS8IF1zgr1VqarovrKNivEzPenVq4/s1600/imgres-4.jpeg" title="Meticulice head lice itch" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<ol>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It is important to know that itching may take up to three months to begin and does not necessarily indicate that lice has recently been contracted. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The itching is not caused by the bites of the head lice, but rather by an allergic reaction to the bites. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Sores or raw skin may develop on the scalp from frequent scratching. Watch for infection caused by skin bacteria. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Promptly call a doctor if there is sign of infection.</span></li>
</ol>

First of all, there is still a stigma that people with poor hygiene get head lice. Not true at all. Head lice don't discriminate between dirty or clean, rich or poor, and young or old. Second, ridding yourself of head lice can be a time consuming and tedious process. So it is no wonder that children can feel overwhelmed when they learn that they have head lice.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Here at <a href="http://www.meticulice.com/">Meticulice</a> we recognize that children, and adults, face a number of feelings along with the head lice and we provide an environment for them to face the feelings and be empowered. Our salon is clean, bright and welcoming an our clients feel like they are here to be pampered. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Education</b> is a big part of what we offer at <a href="http://meticulice./">Meticulice.</a> We help remove the stigma and teach prevention to help our clients feel empowered. We have a large brightly colored chalkboard across half of our back wall which is titled <b>"Get Your Licesense"</b> and is full of tips to prevent contracting head lice.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Helping our clients <b>address their feelings</b> about having head lice is one of the things that makes <a href="http://www.meticulice.com/">Meticulice</a> stand out. The second half of our back wall is covered by another chalkboard. This one is titled <b>"Meticuboard"</b> and has buckets of colored chalk hanging below it. Our clients, young and old, express themselves on this board. They draw pictures and write things such as <i>"I was deliceafied", "Katie doesn't have lice", and "Bye Bye Lice"</i>. The written expressions help both the writer and other clients who enter our salon.</span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Most often the talk about head lice is focused on children, and maybe the grown folks who live with them. But as we frequently tell you, head lice does not just affect kids. Lice is transmitted from head to head contact so anyone and everyone is susceptible. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Why are children so often the focus? They spend most of their time in close proximity to one another. In classrooms, locker rooms, sports fields, sleepovers, etc. These environments make the transmission of head lice easy. In addition, kids may share hair brushes, pillows, blankets and more.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">A group that is often overlooked is the elderly. People residing in nursing homes and assisted living facilities should be carefully checked for head lice. Their environment is much like that of kids. They spend a lot of time in close proximity with others. Bedding may be shared. Grooming may be a bit more difficult for them than it once was and it is possible they may not realize what the initial symptoms signify.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">If you have an elderly loved one, bring them to <a href="http://www.meticulice.com/">Meticulice</a> for a head check to be sure they are lice free. If you would like information on bringing <a href="http://www.meticulice.com/">Meticulice </a>to your facility, please call and ask to speak with Elissa!</span>Meticulicehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17710928811156925268noreply@blogger.com0
